2006 Meadows Tennis

2006 was a fantastic year for the Meadows Tennis program. Numbers were up across the board. With these numbers 2007 is going to be a big year.

Juniors

The Junior Team Tennis Program boasted two state champion teams

Girls 18 Intermediate A Team – Torrey Banks, Shannon Bennett, Kelly Orr, Stacey Lundgren, Jordan Puckett, Carissa Mehos. Team Mom Maureen Curno

Boys 12 Intermediate B Team – Beau Walters, Ben Krahenbuhl, Connor Corrigan, Jeffrey Clarke, Kevin Beyer, Spencer Huff. Team Mom Wendy Corrigan, Honorable mention Alyssa Beyer

Finalist Boys 12 Intermediate B – Matt Johnson, Grey O’Neil, Michael Ozeroff, Jack Spiegel, Clayton Jeannette, Ben Kates, Eric Hauptman

There were 81 participants in the league program on 15 teams. We added one new team.

Adults

The Adult League Program had one State Champion in 2006.

Congratulations 2.5 Fall Daytime Champions – Captain Miriam McCarty, Jacque Anderson, Patricia Jamison, Tina Aweida, Leslie Walters, Angie Twist, Janet Lappen, Laurie Clauson, Barb Henritze, Julie VonEschen.

There were 41 Adult League teams.

League participation was up from 368 – 429. A 17% increase from 2005.

The Meadows went from 23^rd to 20^th largest league program in the state.

The Meadows Open

The 2006 Meadows Open was a colossal success. Participants were up from 223 to 260.
