COMMUNICATOR                                    JANUARY 2007

NEW BOARD MEMBERS AND OFFICERS-At the annual meeting in October, Audrey Irwin, Richard Leddon, and Dee Perry were elected to the Meadows Club Board of Directors for three year terms. Many thanks to outgoing board members, Alyssa Beyer, Mark Mehos, and Kirsten Roeber, for all their efforts on behalf of the Club over the past three years. New officers for 2007 are: President, Jon Goodman; Vice President, Curt Corrigan; Secretary, Richard Leddon; and Treasurer, Louie Beaupre. The Board members on the tennis committee will be Curt Corrigan, co-chair, Dee Perry, co-chair, and Richard Leddon. The Board members on the swimming committee will be, Audrey Irwin, chair, Louie Beaupre, and Sara Oclassen.

TENNIS DIRECTOR- Doug Kazarosian will return as Director of Tennis for 2007 and will continue to work to make tennis as much of a year round activity as possible. Please contact Doug (leave a message at the Club) if you are interested in any form of tennis activity in the winter months.

SWIM NEWS- Please check the Website for the complete 2007 swim meet schedule but for those of you working on summer vacation plans already, the championship finals for 2007 will be held on July 28th and the Meadow's swim team banquet will be on July 29th Our first swim meet will be on June 9th and our BYE Saturday this year will be July 7th • 2007.

PLATFORM TENNIS- If you haven't been out to play platform (paddle) tennis on our newly resurfaced court (thanks to John Miller, Curt Corrigan and John Clauson) you're missing a lot of fun! Platform tennis is in its fourth year at the Meadows and is proving to be a very popular winter activity. The key for the padlock on the platform tennis court and the key to the paddle tennis equipment lock box inside the Club (by the tennis director's office) is the same as the front door key to the Meadows Club. If you want information about platform tennis, please call John Miller or Curt Corrigan.

DALE MOOD AWARD- Congratulations to Jay Beyer for being selected as the winner of the Award for 2006. For helping on the work day at the club, almost single handedly

rebuilding the swim shelter, helping Alyssa with the many events she organized in her three years on the Board and organizing our overflow parking solution, Jay certainly deserves to be the Meadows Club volunteer of the year. Thank you Jay!

Dear Meadows Club Members:

Happy New Year from your Board of Directors and manager. Once again we had a great year at the Meadows Club. The membership is full (and then some), our tennis and swimming teams had successful seasons, and the social events were all well attended.

After careful consideration the Board of Directors has determined that a small dues increase will be required this year to keep the Club financially healthy. The increase will amount to $100 ($8.33/month) a year for a family membership and a corresponding percentage for other membership catagories ($6.67/month for a single parent, $5.00/month for single, and $3.33/month for junior memberships). In addition, initiation fees for new incoming members will be increased by 33%. This adjustment represents a 3% increase for the years 2005, 2006, and 2007, which is less than the rate of inflation. Over the last few years we have seen increased costs in many areas but in particular in utility charges, property taxes, and insurance rates.

The following chart depicts the dues structure for 2007 and also indicates the amount you save if you pay in advance (January) for the entire year.
