TENNIS

The Meadows Tennis Program is rocking this summer. Adult and Junior leagues are going Strong with increased participation from all the veterans and lots of shining new faces. Roger Sebenik's 4.0 men, Dee Perry's 3.5 women, Audrey Irwin's and Suzette Stem's 3.0 women, Maureen Cumo's 3.0 women, and Lori Kahn's 2.5 women are all fighting for a spot in tbe District Playoffs in August. Way to go Meadows! The Junior program is blowing up. Plenty of space is available for all ages and ability levels. The Junior Club Championships will be July 17*-23rf. Come see the future club champions battle it out Contact Doug with any programming or tennis questions. See you on the courts!

SWIMMING

Swim lessons and swim team are off to a great start this year. There are two sessions of swim lessons remaining this summer. One session starts on July 10th and the other starts on August 7th. The lessons are from 11:00 to 1130 AM. Sign up in advance at the front desk. Due to an increase in dues, entry fees and other swim team expenses, we are going to have to raise the fee to $185 for the first child and $175 for all additional children in the same family. The swim team has won its first three meets this summer against the BCC, the Flyers and Meadowglen. As I write this newsletter the swim team is preparing for three more meets against Mesa, the Elks, and Louisville. Spaghetti dinners, night practices, swim clinics, Funday Mondays, and many other events continue to make the swim team a favorite activity.

MESSAGE FROM THE MANAGER

Although I don't have the space to name all of them, I would like to acknowledge all the members who volunteer to help run the social events, the swim and tennis meets, and other Meadows Club functions. We had over 40 individuals help with our spring clean up and it sure made a difference. I would like to especially thank Jay and Alyssa Beyer and John Clausen for the work put in to rebuild and refurbish the swim shelter and also James Sable for repairing the tennis ball machine. These efforts were above and beyond expectations. Please remember that me Meadows Club is a non-smoking facility, now in accordance with state law and, as cote as they are, please do not bring dogs en-other pets to the Club. We would also ask that you be considerate of others when using cell phones. Hearing the Stars and Stripes Forever in the middle of a serve during a tiebreaker is, surprisingly, not appreciated by all. Please do not drive into the Club parking lot through the exit driveway, ft may be difficult to see a child on a bicycle coming out of the parking lot through the exit Finally, please help to keep the Club clean by disposing of trash properly and using the eco cycle containers where provided, especially on the tennis courts. Thanks.

We are again fortunate to have a great staff this year. Please take a minute, especially new members, to introduce yourself to the receptionists, the tennis staff, the maintenance crew, the life guards and the swim coaches.
