Junior Tennis Code of Conduct

As a representative of the Meadows club, sportsmanlike behavior is expected of every junior tennis player at both home and away facilities.

Unacceptable behavior includes the following: profanity of any kind, racquet throwing, hitting or kicking or any other abuse of tennis nets, fences or on-court property, intentionally hitting a ball out of the court when it is not in play, and any shouting or tone that is loud enough to disturb either an opponent or players on adjacent courts. It also includes any other conduct judged as inappropriate by the tennis professionals.

Consequences will be non-negotiable and universally enforced as follows:

First offense: Player will be immediately removed from tennis courts and programs for that day. If a league or tournament match is in play, the match will be defaulted.

Second offense: Player will be immediately removed from tennis courts and programs for one week. If a league or tournament match is in play, the match will be defaulted. Player will not be allowed to compete in USA matches (if applicable), or participate in organized clinics or social tennis at the club.

Third offense: Player will be immediately removed from tennis courts and programs and will lose all court privileges for the balance of the summer.

Enforcement of this code will be the primary responsibility of the tennis professionals, but can and should be enforced by all adults and members of the Meadows club. No child shall be given special consideration and no circumstantial negotiations will be honored.

Many families are building great tennis traditions at the Meadows club. If you are a junior, please consider the impact that your behavior (both positive and negative) has on those around you. If you are a parent, please discuss these issues with your kids as you set your family expectations.

We look forward to a successful junior tennis season. Thank you for your support!

I have read the Junior Code of Conduct and I agree to its terms and conditions.
