A motion was made
and approved to waive the reading of the minutes from the previous year’s
annual meeting.

Annual Tennis
Report:
2007 tennis season report is
attached via Word Document.
Questions
were raised regarding the Meadows junior tennis program and why it is not
perceived as a feeder for the local high school tennis team. It was proposed that the Board survey the
membership on what they like or dislike about the junior tennis program. Comments regarding the methods and techniques
used in the tennis program were made.
Some members expressed a desire to have advanced lessons that focus on
technique and strategy in addition to the game focused lessons. Some members also expressed a need for a lead
tennis pro to focus on the junior tennis program.
Annual Swim
Report:
2007
Swim report is attached via a Word document.
There
is a general concern among members that the swim team numbers are down. The demographics of the Club and surrounding
community have skewed toward “empty nesters.”
Members are highly satisfied with the level of organization around the
swim program. Some concern among members
that the changes in the Boulder Valley School District schedule will negatively
impact the swim team.
Jon
Goodman presented a summary of his tenure as President. Financial issues and uncertainty regarding
Dale Mood’s retirement were the dominant issues. At the conclusion of Jon’s term, Club
membership and financial position are the best in the history of the Club.
Dee
Perry gave an update on the search for a General Manager. There are nine resumes of which four were
phone screened and to were interviewed. There are two additional candidates to
evaluate.
Nominations
were made for Steve Boselli, Ann Goldfarb, and John Givens to become the two
new Board members to replace outgoing members, Jon Goodman and Sara O’classen. A move to close the nominations was
approved. A move to suspend the writing
of the votes was approved. The secretary
announced the results of the election and a motion was made to add Steve
Boselli and Ann Goldfarb to the Meadows Board for the next three years. This motion was unanimously approved.
Adjournment
of the annual meeting was approved.
