2007 Tennis Report

· Meadows Club ranked in the top 11 of 71 Clubs participating in USTA League programs in Colorado for 2006

· USTA participation up 17% which is the highest increase in Boulder County

· Total Adult league slots filled in 2006 was 429, up 61 vs. prior CY

· Total Junior league slots filled in 2006 was 81, flat vs. prior CY

· Member court usage is very consistent year round as the weather allows

USTA Junior Team Tennis

· 14 teams with 81 participants

· 5 teams qualified for district championships

o Boys 12IA, Boys 12IB, Boys 14IB

o Girls 14IB, Girls 18IB

USTA Adult Team Tennis

· Adult league program had 44 teams in 2007

· 3 adult League flight champions and one wild card qualifier

· 4.0 Men, 3.0 Men, 3.5 Women, 2.5 Women participated in the USA Adult District championships

· 3.5 Women daytime doubles flight champions

· 3.5 Women Fall daytime doubles flight champions

· 3.5 Men Twilight State Champions

Meadows Open

· Most successful tournament to date, up to 313 in 2007 (+20%) from 260 participants in 2006

· 28 men participated in the open draw which is the largest Open Draw without prize money in the state

Opportunities and priorities for 2008

· Evaluate upgrade of tennis facilities

· Launch pilot program hire of League Coordinator

· Improve services for playing the entire season (water, clean courts, trash collection)

· Pursue City approval to light existing Platform Tennis Court by Fall 2008

· Exploring new ways to bill for lessons and new Club supported budgets for tennis program management
