Meadows members enjoyed another wonderful summer at the pool.  Although we were off to a bit of a rough start with plumbing problems caused by the harsh winter, Dale and Shane quickly got everything under control and we were well on our way.  There were no new major changes to the pool or pool area this season.

Swim Lessons:

Swim lessons were very popular this year with a higher than normal percentage of new families participating.  As a result of the BVSD schedule changes, we only offered two sessions instead of three.  In addition so many kids took the Life Saving class during the 2006 summer, that there was not enough interest to offer again this past summer.

Swim Team:

The Swim Team continues to be a popular activity at the Meadows providing kids from of all ages experiences that will last a lifetime.   Having said goodbye to quite a few graduating seniors last year, the team was down about 20 swimmers for a total of 118.  In addition we had about 12-15 pre-team participants.

This year we participated in the 6 dual meets and hosted three.  Our fundraising efforts paid off with bake sale profiting $1096.00 and the grill $ 1541.66.  We defeated BCC and Fox Hill in our dual meets and came in 5th at finals.  Given the number of swim team members appears to directly affect the outcome, we are very proud of our performance!

1st - Elks (over 250 kids)

2nd - Mesa (180 kids)

3rd - Louisville (200 kids)

4th - Flyers (175 kids)

5th - Meadows (118 kids)

6th - BCC (125 kids)

Over the course of the summer approximately 12 swimmers broke Meadows records!

Special thanks go out to Shane Mood and his staff of excellent coaches:

8 and Unders: Carla Natali

9-10: Jessica Barela

11-12: Hannah Rodgers

13-14: Kelly Klein

15-18:  Katie Carara

for providing an outstanding year for the children.  We would also like to thank Dale Mood for his years of running home meets, prelims, and finals and assisting everyone else in their jobs.  We will truly miss his enthusiasm and dedication.  Finally, we would like to acknowledge the wonderful support of the swim team parents.  Dinners, social activities, bake sales, grill sales, the slide show, etc. all make the swim team experience a very special one.  We thank everyone for their dedication and support.

We look forward to another great swim season next summer.
